What this does not affect
It does not affect what we recommend. Editors do not see commission rates when deciding which products to include or how to score them. Some of the products recommended on this site pay us nothing at all — we link to manufacturer stores and to retailers we have no relationship with wherever that is the right answer for the reader.
It does not affect the price you pay. Affiliate commission is paid by the retailer out of their margin. Your price is identical whether you use our link or navigate to the retailer yourself.
It does not affect our scores. Scores follow the published review methodology. There is no commercial input to them.
How to spot a commercial link
We keep this obvious rather than subtle:
- Purchase buttons are visually distinct from editorial links — a solid, amber-coloured button rather than a text link.
- Every commercial link carries
rel="sponsored nofollow"markup, which is the standard machine-readable signal. - Every page carrying commercial links shows a disclosure above the content, not buried at the bottom.
- Links open in a new tab, so you do not lose your place in the article.
What we will not do
- We will not display a price we cannot verify from an authorised source at the moment you read the page.
- We will not claim a price is the lowest available, or that stock is limited, to create urgency.
- We will not disguise where a link goes.
- We will not accept payment for a recommendation, a score, or inclusion in a guide.

That is completely fine, and it will not stop you reading anything here.
Every product we recommend is named precisely — manufacturer, family and model number — specifically so you can search for it yourself, buy it wherever you like, and still get the benefit of the research.
