We get things wrong. When we do, we fix them in the open.
How we handle errors
Factual errors — a wrong specification, a miscalculated figure, a misattributed capability — are corrected as soon as they are confirmed. Where the error could have affected a reader’s purchasing decision, we add a dated correction note to the article and log it below.
Errors that change a recommendation get a note at the top of the article explaining what changed and why, and the page’s updated date is reset.
Things that go out of date are not corrections. Hardware is superseded and prices move; that is the normal decay of buying advice and is handled through scheduled review rather than through this page.
Typographical fixes are made silently. Logging them would bury the corrections that matter.
What we will not do
We will not quietly edit a recommendation to make a past position look better than it was. If we changed our minds, the article says that we changed our minds.
We will not remove an article to make an error disappear.
